Thanks, very thought provoking. I have added it to my roundup at http://www.skmurphy.com/blog/2010/06/13/dac-2010-blog-coverage-roundup/

I would observe that there have always been firms in EDA that find a niche and serve it. I am thinking in particular of Verific and Artwork Conversion Services who each offer different kinds of translation tools and services that see a steady but somewhat limited demand.

But I agree that there me deeper and more far reaching trends at work.
