HDT won't reread .libraries.xml file
OK, here's the deal...
In working to overcome the extreme cumbersome process of excluding hundreds of files from my project, I discovered that the exclusions were kept in the .libraries.xml file. "Excellent!" I thought, this would let me edit the file directly and save a bunch of time.
Well, not so fast. After editing the file with small changes just to test the process (with HDT closed, as not to disturb it), HDT doesn't see the libraries anymore. When I go to the project properties/libraries section, it's blank. I've deleted the .libraries.xml and restored defaults with the button, and while it looks like the default libraries return, they don't stay. After quitting/relaunching HDT, there are no libraries listed, and the .libraries.xml file doesn't exist anymore.
I also cleverly kept a copy of the original .libraries.xml file, and even restoring it does not restore the libraries in the project.
What happened?! How do I get back my libraries? Do I have to recreate the project?
Thanks,
Tim

Refresh seems to be the key...
Well I've dug around a bit more, and it seems that if I refresh the project HDT picks up the new .libraries.xml file. Rebuilding the project doesn't do it.
I also discovered that with this project it takes a long time after launch until the tool is really ready. Everything seems to be OK, but the outline and hierarchy tabs won't populate for 20-30 seconds. This was causing my confusion, as I'd go to the project properties and see no libraries. But once I discovered this, and waited until everything was populated, the libraries were too.
Things seem to be working now, but it would sure be nice if there were an easier way to import a large number of select files from a big tree without copying to a new location.
It would also be nice if there were a warning that the project needed refreshing.

recompile/refresh
Hi Tim,
I'll make sure that the "recompile" action triggers a project refresh.
If you open files using Sigasi HDT itself, you do not need to refresh, but if you use an external browser, a refresh might be necessary.

progress monitor
On the bottom right of your window, you can see a progress monitor.

If you double click the conveyor belt icon, the progress view shows.

set up projects/import wizard
Hi Tim,
We are trying to figure out what how the GUI should work for this "import" function you mention. First off, I think nobody wants to copy all their files to a separate folder before working with them, so we have to point Sigasi HDT to a bunch of files scattered across the drive.
Do you have a list of all the files you want to import? If you can email such a list to us, we can run it through a prototype import function and send you the .project and .libraries.xml files.
