Integration of Eclipse Plugin with various versions of Eclipse
I'm generally curious about the Eclipse plugin at this point and plans for continued support against versions of Eclipse. At the moment, our software teams have switched pretty fully to using IBM's Rational Team Concert. Now, this seems to work well for software development, however Eclipse really doesn't seem to like firmware much and it's been difficult to find support. Part of the reason for this is that RTC is almost always a version behind in Eclipse. So when we have Eclipse with RTC up and running, we're on Ganymede (Eclipse 3.4). Many, many, many plugins break against this version it seems. I can't even get some sort of generic syntax coloring with most plugins.
So while the Sigasi Eclipse plugin is interesting, it'll likely only be useful once RTC moves to version 3.5 itself (and subsequently we as an organization move to 3.5 on top of that.) Which brings me to my questions
1) Will Sigasi continue to maintain variants of the plugin against older versions of Eclipse?
2) Is there any prayer of the plugin working against 3.4?
3) Has anyone had any experience with Eclipse combining both Rational Team Concert and Sigasi environments? It does seem like plugins often seem to crash together. If the two do collide, Sigasi will lose. The other is more operationally needed.
Anyhow, those are my concerns today. Hope they spark some thought and discussion. I have to admit I'm not a big Eclipse expert, but the organization is starting to use it heavily and I'll likely have to adapt.
Best regards,
Mark Norton

Eclipse 3.4
Sigasi HDT is currently not compatible with Eclipse 3.4.
But I think we could make it compatible. Are there other interested parties in Eclipse 3.4 support?
Hendrik.
