Sigasi Makes its IDE for VHDL available as an Eclipse plugin

Plugin targets the Eclipse user base

Ghent, Belgium - March 17, 2010 - Sigasi, an EDA company focused on agile hardware design tools, today announced that it will make Sigasi HDT, an Intelligent Development Environment (IDE) for VHDL, available as an Eclipse plugin.
As from today, Sigasi HDT will be available in two versions: as a standalone
application as before, and as a VHDL Eclipse plugin. A tool license includes the right to use either version, at any time, at the customer's discretion.

Opening up our documentation

As of today, all of our user documentation will be freely available on our website. We realize that this is not conventional for EDA software. A few months ago, John Ford noted that some companies make it unnecessarily hard to access their documentation or knowledge bases. We think that there is a better way.

You know that we have a culture of open communication with our customers. We allow anybody to download and try our software and we have an open discussion forum. We talk to you on the phone, through email and on twitter.

The user manual and other documentation has been packaged with Sigasi HDT from the start, but now we open it up on the web. This will make it easier for everybody to access and search the documentation. As always, we welcome your input, so that together we can build the future of VHDL design.

Why use Eclipse for embedded software development?

Sigasi's CTO Hendrik Eeckhaut gives a talk a the DSP-Valley technology seminar on Eclipse. Everybody working on embedded systems should seriously consider Eclipse for an IDE (intelligent development environment).

Eclipse can provide the ideal development environment for tons of different languages, including C/C++, Python, Java and VHDL.

The Seminar will take place on March 30, 2010 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
