Sigasi develops integrated development environments (IDEs) that make chip designers more productive. In our portfolio we offer two IDEs, both focused on VHDL and SystemVerilog: one based on the Eclipse platform, one based on Visual Studio Code (VS Code).

In general, we aim to make our products extremely easy to use. We believe that customers can be productive in a matter of hours without even consulting the manual.

Sadly, in the chip design industry, companies are rather secretive. Thus the communication between Sigasi and its customers often goes silent after purchasing.

However, the IDEs we previously mentioned can optionally send back information to us. This information is already used to analyze stack traces triggered by our users, but it’s very limited with respect to the other data it sends back. Besides stack traces, we can also report some of the actions our users perform. These actions can then be analyzed to help us better understand the user. This will help us prioritize feature development and indicate which workflows need to be improved.

In this internship, you will expand our product by creating a tool that helps us better understand the user behaviour in order to improve their experience and guide our priority list. You will:

  • make sure relevant user actions are recorded and sent back to us
  • enhance the existing messages with valid and consistent information
  • setup a system that can analyze user actions
  • visualize the newly analyzed data in a format that allows us to make concrete conclusions
  • integrate user actions with the existing stack trace analysis to create a better understanding of * what the user is doing before he/she encounters an issue

You will join the core engineering team of Sigasi and participate in the day-to-day development. You’ll join the scrum team, your code will be a first-class citizen and go through the standard review cycle and eventually have a real impact on our product.

This internship takes place in 2022, at the Sigasi office, near the city center of Ghent, Belgium. For more information about this internship proposal, e-mail
